Today is the first day of school for the 2014-2015 school year! Welcome back to school to our Television Production Academy students! Mr. Wright has been busy planning all summer and is hoping this will be an amazing year for everyone!
Seminole Ridge TV Production Academy student Frank Canas won Best Screenplay at the Palm Beach International Film Festival’s Student Showcase of Films last month. Here is a story about the Film Festival by The Education Network. It includes Frank’s acceptance speech.
The Major League Baseball season has just begun and Class of 2010 graduate Mike Roy is working as a videographer and video editor for the Miami Marlins. Mike was a reporter and anchor for WSRH News and played Varsity Baseball at Seminole Ridge High. This is definitely a dream job for Mike! Congratulations!

Seminole Ridge TV attended the STN (Student Television Network) National Convention for the first time and took home a win! The convention was held in Orlando at the Rosen Plaza Hotel and Orange County Convention Center.
Junior Jezebel Perez and sophomore Cara Engh won 1st Place in the PSA competition. Perez and Engh had to create a PSA promoting the “golden rule” in 6 hours: 3 for planning & shooting, 3 for editing.
Mr. Wright and 10 students (C.J. Bates, Connor Nugent, Nataly Berdecia, Jezebel Perez, Cara Engh, Anthony Gugliotta, Andrew Garcia, Ricky Bong, Christian Menke and Nick Koenig) competed in the Sweet 16 Film Challenge which required the team to create a short film in under 16 hours. The film had to have the title “The Big Squeeze” and feature 3 shots with an orange as a prop.
