Seminole Ridge TV continues to work during the Coronavirus Epidemic and provide daily broadcasts (Hawk Headlines) as well as our WSRH EXTRA shows. Mr. Wright is extremely proud of his students for continuing to strive for excellence in journalism when it would be so easy to stop!
This week our staff earned 2nd Place in the State from the Florida Scholastic Press Association for our last episode of WSRH EXTRA on April 16th! Congrats to all of our staff members who contributed and continually raise the bar!
This spring our students were asked to produce a serious news package to run on WPTV News about an issue that they cared about. Several students stepped up to the challenge and their excellent story on the Teen Vaping Epidemic did air on WPTV NewsChannel 5. This morning I learned that their hard work has also netted them a nomination by the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (the Regional Emmys) for a Student Production Award! We are one of three schools from the Suncoast Region (Florida, Alabama & Louisiana) under consideration for the award! I believe they will announce the winners this Friday. I am extremely proud of Ashley Pellicone, Rachel Clarke, Hunter Wood, Cassi Narcus, Amanda Jewett, Magali Nicho and Anne Perry! In case you missed it, here’s their story:
